Champion have just released their latest winch specifically designed for the speedy recovery of your offroad / 4x4. The Champion C9500HS winch operates at a staggering 65 ft/min (with no load).
The new C9500HS (HS obviously standing for ‘High Speed’) is based around the already respected EWX range of Champion winches but has been tinkered with to achieve the faster winching speed. This has been done by replacing the standard C9500EWX winch motor with an upgraded, more powerful 6.5 hp/4.5 kW 12v series wound motor (complete with brass internals to avoid corrosion) along with replacing the exisiting gearbox with a 110:1 ratio gearbox, still with the 3 stage planetary gears and clutch lever for quick manual free spool of the rope.
As this winch is designed for the extreme offroader in mind, the steel cable has been replaced with a synthetic rope which is both safer and lighter than the standard steel ropes and a preferred choice for the keen offroader. Other features include a double sealed motor to minimise water damage, a sealed waterproof contactor (solenoid) complete with a steel contactor cover for added protection, double sealed drum so the gearbox also has added protection from water damage and is fitted with an automatic brake fitted within the drum. Perfect for 4x4 use.
The winch has a standard 254mm x 114mm mounting hole pattern to ensure it easily mounts within the majority of winch bumpers available on the market.
Included in the Champion C9500HS box is an isolater switch (or kill switch), heavy-duty aluminium hawse fairlead, instruction manual, mounting bolts and most importantly not only a wired handheld winch remote but also a heavy-duty type wireless remote handset enableing you to perform driver assist winching!
